Why Baptism?
Baptism is an outward declaration of an inward transformation. It does not earn salvation; salvation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism publicly shows that a person has repented, believed in Christ and chosen to follow Him.
It represents:
Obedience to Jesus — Matthew 28:19
Repentance and faith — Acts 2:38
Identification with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection — Romans 6:3–4
A cleansed conscience toward God — 1 Peter 3:21
A public declaration of becoming a disciple of Jesus — Acts 8:36–38
